In this position, you will be part of the Client Solutions team but work closely with the Government practice team as well. BlueLabs’ Client Solutions Team is responsible for growing and diversifying BlueLabs’ client base and revenue. We are a fast-moving group of analytics experts who work collaboratively to design custom solutions for a variety of organizational challenges and client types. We work with prospective clients from first contact through contract (and later program implementation), making sure they receive the information they need to make informed decisions. We serve hundreds of leads each year, about half of which are initiated by team members and half coming from external inquiries and networks.
The BlueLabs Government practice is at the forefront of revolutionizing the ways that citizens use and learn about government services. This team specializes in creating personalized nudges that empower people with the information they need to take action and make informed choices. We work closely with internal government innovation groups, and build on the analytics methodology pioneered in e-commerce, advocacy, politics, and consumer finance.
As Director of Government Solutions you will be responsible for planning and executing BlueLabs’ government sales and partnerships strategy. You will leverage your government contracting experience, existing professional networks, and BlueLabs’ reputation to identify opportunities at the federal and state levels, engage potential partners, develop proposals, and onboard our experienced government team into new projects. This is an exciting, creative, challenging, and rewarding role that will put you at the very forefront of analytics innovation. The position will be based out of our Washington, DC office.
In this position, you will:
Design and implement a government sales and partnership strategy in collaboration with leadership and the Client Solutions teams
Identify and develop specific sales leads in the federal and state government sectors
Be actively involved in designing analytics solutions in response to RFPs, together with BlueLabs’ data scientists and engineers, while leveraging your experience, knowledge of client targets’ needs, and competitive analysis
Develop new relationships with teaming partners that provide access to additional agencies or access.
Lead proposal development efforts, both on prime contracts as well as providing BlueLabs contributions to teaming arrangements.
Collaborate with operations team to quickly execute NDAs, teaming agreements, and other documents.
Prepare capability briefing and other material for informal pitches.
Lead meetings, calls, and presentations with prospective clients and partners
Effectively manage relationships with prospective clients from first contact to contract, and later while shepherding program implementation
Maintain an active pipeline of new business to meet and exceed annual sales targets
Attend industry conferences and BlueLabs events
Track and report on leads in BlueLabs’ CRM, and participate in team meetings
Actively identify opportunities for product, services, and process improvements
You probably have:
Worked in a role in which you regularly engaged with decision makers in federal or state government agencies
A strong viewpoint about the role of data or technology in improving the ways that citizens access social services
Successfully built networks of professional supporters that drove personal learning, direct prospects, partnerships, and relationships
Exposure to the government proposal and partnership development process
You probably are:

4+ years of professional work experience in government services or sales
An established network of professional connections in the commercial, marketing, or corporate analytics sectors
An degree in public administration, mathematics/statistics, computer science, or other relevant fields
